The Firefly Watching Tour will start between 5:30PM and 6:30PM, when the air-con van will come to pick you up at your hotel in Puerto Princesa. The driver will take you on a 35 to 45 minutes travel from the city proper to the Iwahig River. After arriving at the wharf, you will take place in the paddle boat by small group and start your cruise to witness the beautiful sight of the fireflies illuminating the riverbanks of the Iwahig River. The tour takes place on around 1.2 kms of the river where the mangroves are located and where you can spot the sparkling and dazzling insects. During the tour, you will also get the chance to learn about the constellation of the stars, or about the glowing microscopic organisms, also known as plankton, which live underwater.
