Zamboanga City Hall

The construction of the historic building was commenced in 1905 by the Federal Government of the United States and was completed in 1907. The building served as the official residence of the US Military Governor of the Moro Province. It later became the seat of government of the Department of Mindanao and Sulu and the defunct Zamboanga province. Since 1937, the building has been functioning as the city hall of Zamboanga City. The Zamboanga City Hall has a Filipino colonial architectural design.

Plaza Pershing

Located a mere two minutes walk from City Hall, the Plaza was originally known as “Plaza de Don Juan de Salcedo” in honor of one of Spain’s great Conquistadores of the 16th century. It was renamed Plaza Pershing in 1915 in memory the American genera, John “Blackjack” Pershing. General Pershing fought in the Philippine-American War.

Fort Pilar

The Real Fuerza de Nuestra Señora del Pilar de Zaragoza (Royal Fort of Our Lady of the Pillar of Saragossa), also Fort Pilar, is a 17th-century military defense fortress built by the Spanish colonial government in Zamboanga City, Philippines. The fort, which is now a regional museum of the National Museum of the Philippines, is a major landmark of the city and symbol of its cultural heritage

Paseo del Mar

Paseo Del Mar in Zamboanga City is one of the most beautiful parks in the Philippines. Here, you can witness the most spectacular sunsets in the city and the stunning view of Santa Cruz and Basilan Island. A view of the city’s busy port could also be seen from Paseo del Mar. There are several cement benches at the park and there is long walkway along the shoreline or breakwater.
